Obituary of Annie Jeanette Clifton

Funeral services for Annie Jeanette Clifton, age 75, of Woodland will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at 12:00 PM at Gray Hill Church of God with Rev. Jerome Whaley and Tasha Whittle officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:30-8:00 PM on Friday, November 17, 2017.  Mrs. Clifton will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Saturday.

Mrs. Clifton passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017, at her daughter’s residence.

Survivors include: one daughter, Gigi Cook (John) of Woodland; two sons, Tim Clifton (Sheila) of Woodland and Anthony Clifton (Pam) of Ranburne; four grandchildren, Tasha Whittle (Brad), Adam Clifton (Chantel), Kyle Clifton (Kaci), and Jeremy Cook; five great-grandchildren, Ellie Whittle, Addyson Clifton, Rylann Graham, Jayce Graham, and Kara Grace Clifton (on the way); three sisters, Evelyn Hill Mitchem of Illinois, Norene Hill Allen of Heflin, and Joann Hill Daniel of Ranburne; and four brothers, Harold Hill of Newell, Joel Hill of Graham, and Sammy Hill and Jeff Hill, both of Bowdon, GA.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Clifton, Adam Clifton, Jeremy Cook, Ricky Gentle, John Cook, and Brad Whittle.

A Woodland native, Mrs. Clifton was born on September 11, 1942, the daughter of Tom and Louise Patterson Hill.  She was a member of Gray Hill Church of God and a retired seamstress where she worked at BBIC.  Mrs. Clifton was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, LeRoy Clifton; three sisters, Ilene Gosdin, Jane Buchannan, and Geneva Patterson; and two brothers, Travis and Dallas Hill.
