Funeral services for Mavis Virginia Bailey Almon, age 83, of Lanett will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017, at 2:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. John Samanie officiating.  Burial will follow at Napoleon Church of Christ Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, November 24, 2017.

Mrs. Almon passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at her residence.

Survivors include: four daughters, Sheila Bryant (husband, Earl) of Lanett, Beverly Dutton (husband, David) of Wedowee, Regina Nichols (husband, Barry) of LaGrange, GA, and Janet Almon of Lanett; one son, Emmett “Buddy” Almon, Jr. of LaGrange, GA; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Bertha Almond of Woodland; and one brother, R. Z. Bailey of Woodland.

Pallbearers will be Shane Bryant, Jason Dutton, Travis Dutton, Lee Fulghum, Clay Fulghum, Matthew Almon, and Dylan Almon.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Almon was born on November 26, 1933, the daughter of John Richard and Laura L. Wilson Bailey.  She was a member of Mt. Carmel Church of Christ and was a housewife.  Mrs. Almon was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emmett Almon Sr.; four sisters; and four brothers.
