Obituary of Agnes Louise Ayres Daniel

Funeral services for Agnes Louise Ayres Daniel, age 95, of Newell, will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at 10:00 AM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Stanley Owen and Gabe Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, December 12, 2017.

Mrs. Daniel passed away on Monday, December 11, 2017, at her home.

Survivors include: two daughters, Janice Robinson (husband, Richard) of Bowdon and Martha Motley (husband, Tony) of Newell; one son, John G. Daniel (wife, Phyllis) of Anniston; six grandchildren, Tammy Owen, Kelly Christopher, Gabe Robinson, Dewana Smith, Shenan Motley, and Cana Motley; twelve great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Brent Christopher, Isaac Christopher, Aaron Christopher, Josh Smith, Shenan Motley, and Jerry Albright.

Honorary pallbearers will be Drake Motley, Beau Motley, Jonas Smith, Asher Christopher, and Rhett Robinson.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Daniel was born on September 25, 1922, the daughter of Patrick and Millie White Ayres.  She was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church and had worked as a supervisor with Sewell’s Manufacturing Company. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 ½ years, John L. Daniel, her parents, four sisters, and six brothers.
