Obituary of Lillie Irene New

Funeral services for Lillie Irene New, 95, of Wedowee will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Bro. J. L. Sparks.  Burial will follow at Union Hill Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00-11:00 AM on Saturday, February 24 before services begin.

Miss New passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Clay County Nursing Home.

Survivors include: two sisters, Pauline Logan and Anne New Vaughn, both of Wedowee; sister-in-law, Doris Rollins New; brother-in-law, Jodie Horn; four nieces; eight nephews; and one great-nephew.

A Wedowee native, Miss New was born on February 28, 1922, the daughter of Jessie J. and Amzie Daniel New.  She was a member of Union Hill Congregational Methodist Church.  Miss New was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, and two sisters.
