Obituary of Chris Heard

Funeral services for Chris Heard, age 18, of Wedowee will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at 1:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Elder Thomas Knight officiating.  Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, March 9, 2018.

Mr. Heard passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018, at his home.

Survivors include his parents, Christopher Antonio Heard and Mary Ella Moore Heard, both of Wedowee; maternal grandmother, Gloria Lawson of Wedowee; paternal grandmother, Ida Heard of Wedowee; two sisters, Arkevia Iacara Heard and Akila Umeko Heard, both of Wedowee; a brother, Clayton Talib Kweli of Wedowee; and a host of cousins.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Heard was born on August 18, 1999, the son of Christopher Antonio and Mary Ella Moore Heard.  He was Baptist by faith and worked as a block mason for Benefield Masonry.  Mr. Heard was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jasper Heard and Joseph Leon Moore.
