Obituary of Rickey D Green

Funeral services for Rickey D. Green, age 67, of Wedowee will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Benefield Funeral Chapel.  Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, April 5, 2018.

Rickey passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018, at his home.

Survivors include his brother, Greg Green (Marla) of Wedowee, AL; sister, Joann Luster of Pittsburgh, PA; niece, Brittany Green of Cincinnati, OH; nephew, Gregory Green (LaKishea) of Anniston, AL; great-nieces and great-nephew, Brielle Green, Mackenzie Green, Skylar Green, and Issac Green, all of Anniston, AL.

Pallbearers will be Gregory Green, Lavell Knight, Tommy Drummond, Ezekial Knight.

A Wedowee native, Rickey was born on December 28, 1950, the son of Robert S. Green and Jerusha Glen Green.  He worked as a truck driver for Avondale. He also ran his own transportation business.  He loved muscle cars and was an avid drag racing fan. He was a family man who loved his family and friends. Rickey was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Robert Green.
