Obituary of Bobbie Jean Cotton
Funeral services for Bobbie Jean Cotton, age 79, of Oxford, formerly or Randolph County, will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. CST at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Chad Lee, Chase Cotton, and Rev. Frank Raspberry officiating. Burial will follow at Morrison’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018.
Mrs. Cotton passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham.
Survivors include her husband, Ross Edwin Cotton of Oxford; one son, Eddie Cotton (wife, Lesa) of Anniston; two grandchildren, Chase Cotton (wife, Sunnie) and Lauren Amis (husband, Konnor); and three sisters, Dinah Lee of Wedowee, Margie Craft of Odenville, and Helen Burgess of Perry, FL.
Pallbearers will be Chase Cotton, Konnor Amis, Chad Lee, Jerry Huddleston, Keith Craft, Larry Craft, and Wayne Hollingsworth.
A Cleburne county native, Mrs. Cotton was born on June 20, 1938 the daughter of Roy and Ellie Morrison Dodson. She was a member of Morrison’s Chapel United Methodist Church and had attended Iron City Baptist Church. Mrs. Cotton had previously worked at Regional Medical Center, Linnon Threads, and Higginbotham Print Shop. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Lucy Tracy; and one brother, Arthur C. Dodson.
