Funeral services for Ralph Eugene Witt, 84, of Wedowee, will be held on Wednesday, April 25th, 2018, at 1:00 pm at Ava United Methodist Church with Rev, Richard Smith and Rev. Rick Talley officiating. Burial will follow at Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery in Villa Rica, Georgia.

Mr. Witt will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services beginning.

The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, April 24th. 

Mr. Witt passed away at WellStar West Georgia Hospital on Friday, April 20th, 2018.

Survivors include his wife, Inez Prince Witt of Wedowee; one son, Mike Yearty, Sr. (wife, Martha) of Peachtree City, GA; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Skip Yearty, Andy Moore, Hulond Humphries, Tony Heard, Ron Waters, and Don McAllister.

A South Georgia native, Mr. Witt was born on September 15, 1933, the son of Archie and Lucille Holtsenbeck Witt. He had been self-employed at his shipping and freight company, Air Cargo Expediting, for 40+ years. He was a member of Ava United Methodist Church and deeply loved his church and church family. Mr. Witt was also a member of the Wedowee Tractor Club and the Wedowee Antique Car Club. Mr. Witt was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Alice Witt.
