Funeral services for Mary W. Calhoun, age 92, of Wedowee, AL, will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at 2:00 PM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Darren Anglin officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Grove Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00-8:00 PM on Monday, June 11, 2018.

Mrs. Calhoun passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Clay County Hospital.

She is survived by one daughter, Susan Hurst (Buster) of Wedowee; one grandchild, Jennifer Huggins (Bobby) of Titus, AL; two great-grandchildren, Alyssa Huggins and Katy Ann Huggins; one sister, Sara Haynes of Wedowee; one brother, Bob Wilson of Wedowee; and one daughter-in-law, Judy Calhoun of Wetumpka, AL.

Pallbearers will be George Calhoun, James Miles, Jeff Vowells, Ronald Holloway, Wendell Parmer, Larry Wilson, and Charles Fincher.

Mrs. Calhoun was born in Randolph County on June 1, 1926, to Thomas Clinton and Jessie Benefield Wilson. She was a member of Liberty Grove Congregational Methodist Church and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Groce Calhoun; one son, Gene Calhoun; four brothers, T.C. Wilson, Charlie Ford Wilson, Sam Wilson, and Guy Wilson; and one sister, Virginia Fincher.
