Obituary of Oliver Wallace Crenshaw

Funeral services for Oliver Wallace “Hubcap” Crenshaw, age 67, of Woodland, will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Mt. Carmel Church of Christ with Bro. Donald Spradlin and Bro. Ronnie Nations officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, June 26, 2018.  Mr. Crenshaw will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Wednesday.

Mr. Crenshaw passed away Monday, June 25, 2018, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Crenshaw of Woodland; one daughter, Cindy Mechelle Dye (Danny) of Woodland; one son, Rodney Crenshaw (Belinda) of Woodland; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and special companion, Bently.

Pallbearers will be Stan Carnes, Howard Hurston, Kevin Wood, Dewayne Barrett, Tommy Shackleford, and Bryan Gabriel.

A Roanoke native, Mr. Crenshaw was born on June 14, 1951, the son of Fred Crenshaw and Rosa Mae Clark Brand.  He was a member of Napoleon Church of Christ, worked as a truck driver for Carroll County Public Works, and was a member of the Randolph County Sheriff’s Reserves. Mr. Crenshaw was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Alyssa Katelynn Dye; one great-grandchild; and one sister, Mary Nell Kimbrell.
