Obituary of Jimmy Rampy

Funeral services for Jimmy Rampy, age 69, of Woodland will be held on Friday, August 17, 2018, at 7:30 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tim Whaley officiating. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday before services begin.

Mr. Rampy passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at his residence.

Survivors include: three sons, Jammie Rampy (wife, Rachel) and Chris Rampy (wife, Crystal), both of Roanoke, and Wes Rampy (wife, Jennifer) of Woodland; his mother, Sue Nell Rampy of Woodland; ten grandchildren; one sister, Angela Smith of Temple, GA; and two brothers, Michael Rampy of Woodland and David Rampy of Piedmont.

A Woodland native, Mr. Rampy was born on February 16, 1949, the son of John Calvin and Sue Nell Wilson Rampy.  He was a member of Liberty Grove Congregational Methodist Church, a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War, and worked as a truck driver for Southwire.  Mr. Rampy was preceded in death by his father.
