Obituary of Renee Richardson Wood

Funeral services for Renee Richardson Wood, age 55, of Wedowee will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018, at 3:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. John Roberts officiating.  Burial will follow at Valley Grove Primitive Baptist Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, October 11, 2018.

Mrs. Wood passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018, in Wedowee.

Survivors include her husband, Frederick D. “Randy” Wood of Wedowee; three daughters, Ashley Kinder (husband, Anthony) of Lineville,, Brandi Bickerstaff (husband, Richard) of Delta, and Cassie Whitton (husband, Tommy) of Bremen, GA; nine grandchildren, Sarah Kinder, Kate Kinder, Brooke Kinder, Dustin Bickerstaff, Hunter Bickerstaff, Carson Bickerstaff, T.J. Whitton, David Whitton, and Elisha Whitton; one brother, Terry Richardson (wife, Sylvia) of Wedowee; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Don Sheppard, Levi Screws, Lee Richardson, Jimmy Morgan, Tommy Whitton, Larry Dobbs, Cody Williamson, Trey Yarbrough, and Roger Wood.

A Bowdon, Georgia native, Mrs. Wood was born on August 7, 1963, the daughter of Hoyt Richardson and Opalene Hill Richardson Loveless.  She was Christian by faith and worked as an LPN for Bowdon Hospital, Cleburne County Nursing Home, and as school nurse at Haralson Middle School.  Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Robin Richardson.
