Obituary of Carolyn Hughey

Graveside services for Carolyn Hughey, age 81, of Wedowee, AL, will be held on Monday, November 26, 2018, at 3:00 P.M. from Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Tyler Worthey officiating. Benefield Funeral Home is in charge of arrangement.

The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home from 1:00-3:00 P.M.  on Monday, November 26, 2018.

Mrs. Hughey passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018, at her home in Wedowee.

She is survived by her three daughters, Kathy Hughey of Valley, Brenda Moore of Wedowee, and Leigh Ann Hughey of Roanoke; two sons, Tim Pool and Kevin Pool, both of Wedowee; eleven grandchildren, and twenty-two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy O’Hara, Dusty Moore, Jordan Moore, Ken Spradlin, Tim Pool, and Kevin Pool.

A Wedowee native, Mrs. Hughey was born on September 2, 1937, the daughter of Robert Ellis and Minnie Huey Perry.  She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and had worked as an inspector at West Point Pepperell. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobby Hughey; and two sons Steve Pool and Randy Pool.
