Obituary of Mary Lou Huey

Funeral services for Mary Lou Wilder Huey, 101, of Wedowee, will be held Sunday, January 13, at 2:00 PM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev Keith Benefield officiating. Burial will follow at Wedowee City Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 – 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 13, 2019.

Mrs. Huey passed away January 10, 2019, at her daughter’s home.

Survivors include her three daughters, Judy H. Kirby of Wedowee, Jane H. Brown of Woodland and Jackie H. Cosper of Wedowee; one son, Jimmy D Huey of Hurst, TX; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Chris Brown, Rob Kirby, Rance Kirby, Rhett Kirby, Derrick Huey, Heath Huey, Clay Cosper and Ryan Hanna

A lifelong resident of Randolph Co., Mrs. Huey was born on July 25, 1917, the daughter of John W. and Ellen Elizabeth Hadley Wilder. She was a member of Union Baptist Church and was the owner of Huey’s Grocery.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy Doug Huey; son, Sammy Huey; 6 sisters and 5 brothers
