Funeral services for Lendle Jack “Shorty” Williamson, age 73, of Roanoke, will be held on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 11:00 AM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Bro. Mike Kirby, Bro. Alan Daniel and Bro. Larry Cosper officiating. Burial will follow at Valley Grove Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Sunday, January 20, 2019.

Mr. Williamson passed away on January 18, 2019 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL.

He is survived by his wife, Sara Shelnutt Williamson of Roanoke; two daughters, Beth M. Gray (Andy) and Lindsey Puckett both of Roanoke; 5 grandchildren, Bryant Gray, Hunter Williamson, Joseph Puckett, Blake Gray and Alex Puckett; special family friend, Ariana Etheridge.

Pallbearers will be Charles Wilson, Barry Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Andy Gray, Bryant Gray, Hunter Williamson and Joseph Puckett. Honorary pallbearers will be Blake Gray and Alex Puckett.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Williamson was born on October 1, 1945, the son of Leonard Williamson and Flossy Boggs Williamson. He was a member of East Napoleon Church of Christ and had worked as a Mechanic at Southwire. Mr. Williamson was a member of the Tin Shop Fire Department and was an avid Alabama Fan. He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers and 6 sisters.
