Obituary of Dr. William Robert Dixson

Funeral services for Dr. William Robert Dixson, 66, of Woodland, AL, will be held Sunday, January 27, 2019 at 2:00 PM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Keith Runels, Rev. Wade Price, and Rev. Kelly Runels.  Burial will be Liberty East Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:30 to 8:00 PM on Saturday, January 26, 2019.

Dr. Robert Dixson passed away Thursday, January 24, 2019, at his residence.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Mitchell Dixson of Woodland; son, Justin Dixson of Carrollton, GA; step-son, Bradley Horton of Woodland; two grandchildren, Madeline Dixson and Emma Dixson; sisters, Pat Harrington (Neal) of Woodland and Tena Freeman (Dorsey) of Richmond, VA.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Mitchell, Paul Wiggins, Mitchell East, Michael East, Kenneth Craven, Lamar Hubbard, Ed Freeman and David Freeman. Honorary pallbearers will be Neal Harrington and Dorsey Freeman.

A resident of Randolph Co., Dr. Dixson was born on October 3, 1952, the son of William A Dixson and Rosie I Styles Dixson.  He was a member of Herren’s Grove Baptist Church and had worked as a Pharmacy Manager at Walmart. He is preceded in death by his parents.
