Funeral services for Mrs. Evis Bearden Lindley, 95, of Wedowee, will be held Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 2:00 PM from Pilgrim’s Rest Baptist Church with Dr. Steve Dempsey, Brian Lindley and Dr. Pete Frames officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:30 to 8:00 PM on Monday, January 28, 2019. Mrs. Lindley will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services beginning on Tuesday.

Mrs. Lindley passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Tanner East Alabama.

She is survived by two daughters, Pat Albright (husband, Jerry) of Wedowee and Geraldine Rollins (husband, Tom) of Anniston; two sons, Eddie Lindley (wife, Deborah) of Wedowee and Jerry Lindley (wife, Marlene) of Wedowee; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Chris Lindley, Brian Lindley, Tim Rollins, Heath Albright, Brian Hardin, and Scott Norton. Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Norton, Hunter Rollins, and John Wesley Hardin.

A lifelong resident of Randolph Co., Mrs. Lindley was born on December 6^th, 1923, the daughter of Jack and Nancy E. White Bearden.  She was a member of Pilgrim’s Rest Baptist Church and had worked as a seamstress at Higgins Slack. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy Lindley; 5 sisters and 6 brothers.
