Obituary of Lurline Andrews Parker
Funeral services for Lurline S. Parker, age 89, of Wedowee will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Craig P. McClure officiating. Burial will follow at Union Chapel United Methodist Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 27, 2019.
Mrs. Parker passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019, at her residence.
Survivors include her husband, Charlie Will Parker, Sr.; four sons, Lonize Wayne Parker (wife, Marilyn), Jessie Parker (wife, Cynthia), Rev. Sylvester L. Parker (wife, Ethel), all of Wedowee, and Billy Ray Parker (fiancé, Katessa) of Cold Water, AL; 21 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; special nieces and nephew, Lola Mae Wright, Mary L. Jordan, Belinda Colquitt, Jackie Marable, and Robert Knight; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Lamar Wright, Rico Sims, Nathan Boyd, Keith Jordan, John Tatum, and James Drummond. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Knight, Jimmy Jordan and James Terrell.
A Randolph County native, Mrs. Parker was born on July 30, 1929, the daughter of Mance and Maudie P. Goodwin Wood. She was a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church and worked for Walker’s Dry Cleaners, Alabama Power Company, and also worked at Sewell’s, Terry Manufacturing, and Bremen-Bowdon Investments. Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Charlie Will Terrell and Jimmy Knight; granddaughter, Tiffany Nicole Parker; grandson, Chad Venard Parker; one sister, Lolene Andrews Knight; and special niece and nephews, Jessie Mae Knight, King Edward Knight, James Larry Knight, and Johnny Gray Knight.
Memorials may be floral or donations may be made to Benefield Funeral Home to go toward funeral expenses.
