Funeral services for Dianne Wilson Bassett, age 67, of Roanoke will be held on Monday, February 11th, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with Bro. Ricky Emery and Bro. Jonathan Head officiating.  Burial will follow at Napoleon Church of Christ Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00-7:00 PM on Sunday, February 10th. Mrs. Bassett will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services beginning on Monday.

Mrs. Bassett passed away Saturday, February 9, 2019, at her daughter’s home in Franklin, GA.

Survivors include her husband, Kirby Bassett, of Roanoke; daughter, Lynn Smith McClain, of Franklin; step-daughter, Kristie Bassett, of Wedowee; son, Eddie Smith, of Roanoke; eight grandchildren: Haley Burns, Erin Key, Abby Smith, Trent Shelnutt, Morgan Smith, Abby Bassett, Jada Bassett, and Olivia Bassett; four great-grandchildren: Aaliyah Burns, Isaiah Burns, Oakley Key, and Blakelee Key; sisters, Carolyn Shelnutt, of Roanoke, and Janet Campbell of Hokes Bluff; brothers, Doyle Wilson, Marshall Wilson, and Wayne Wilson all of Roanoke.

Pallbearers will be Johnathan Henderson, Richard Shelnutt, Trent Shelnutt, Buck Steeley, B.J. Wilson, and Wayne Wilson, Jr.

A Roanoke native, Mrs. Bassett was born on March 15, 1951, the daughter of Billy Edwin and Margie Spradlin Wilson. Mrs. Bassett was Christian by faith and was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Roanoke. She had been self-employed as a caregiver.
