Obituary of Jimmie Donald McCormick

Funeral services for Jimmie “Donald” McCormick, 81, of Woodland will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Harmony Congregational Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Wiggins and Rev. Brian Moore officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 5, 2019. 

Mr. McCormick passed away Sunday, March 3, 2019, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Shelby Jean Hall McCormick of Woodland; one daughter, Ginger McCormick Parrish (husband, Greggory) of Woodland and one sister, Elaine M. English (husband, Stanley) of Oxford, AL.

Pallbearers will be Joey Lipham, Elton Akins, Richard Parrish, Jay Young, Heath Thompson, and Timothy Alvis.

A Cleburne County native, Mr. McCormick was born on September 20, 1937, the son of Alonzo and Rosie McCaghren McCormick.  He was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of Harmony Congregational Methodist Church, and worked as a car salesman.  Mr. McCormick was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be floral or donations may be made to the Mission Fund at Harmony Church.
