Funeral services for Kathy Cofield Morrison, age 64, of Heflin will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Union Baptist Church with Bro. James Owens officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 30, 2019.  Mrs. Morrison will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Wednesday.

Mrs. Morrison passed away Sunday, April 28, 2019, at Gadsden Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, Alabama.

Survivors include: two daughters, Miranda Lambert and Amanda Harbin, both of Heflin; one son, Nicholas Kimbrell of Alexandria; three step-daughters, Melissa Trammell, Beth Minyard, and Grace Wood; two step-sons, Cody Morrison and Bubba Morrison; a host of  grandchildren; one sister, Shelia Mitchell of Franklin, GA; and two brothers, Jimmy Cofield of Wedowee and Michael Kirkland of Omaha.

Pallbearers will be Randy Cosper, Shane Cosper, Nathan Kimbrell, Dustin Lambert, C. J. Harbin, and Johnny Mitchell.

A Wedowee native, Mrs. Morrison was born on September 6, 1954, the daughter of Roy Earnest Cofield, Jr., and Adell Breed Cofield.  She was a member of Verdon Chapel Baptist Church.  Mrs. Morrison was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Johnny Morrison; and one sister, Patricia Brown.
