Obituary of Carol Marie Barnett

Funeral services for Carol Marie Barnett, age 69, of Anniston will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Randy Stanford officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, May 16, 2019.

Mrs. Barnett passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at her granddaughter’s residence.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, David Barnett of Anniston; one daughter, Deborah Lynn Barnett (Steve Barkley) of Mentone, AL; one son, Jimmy and Jill Barnett of Wedowee; four grandchildren, Jordan Whatley, Kelsey Fincher, Elisabeth and Randy Stanford, and Bailey Barnett; her father and stepmother, Arnold and Doris Lucas of Springville, IL; three sisters, Barbara Swinson of Plant City, FL, Patricia Lloyd of Roanoke, and Tammy Bowen of Columbus, OH; and one brother, David Bryant of Plant City, FL.

A Chicago, Illinois native, Mrs. Barnett was born on February 23, 1950, the daughter of Arnold Lucas and Jimmie Lou Smelser.  She was a member of Open Door Baptist Church and was a homemaker.  Mrs. Barnett was preceded in death by her mother and one brother, William Bryant.
