Obituary of Nancy Fordham

Funeral services for Nancy Fordham, age 72, of Woodland will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Zion Baptist Church with Bro. David Daniel and Bro. Connor Fordham officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, May 17, 2019.  Mrs. Fordham will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Saturday.

Mrs. Fordham passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at her residence.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Hugh Fordham of Woodland; one daughter, Tina Shirey (husband, Alex) of Clay County; two sons, Ken Fordham (wife, Christy) of Wadley and Ryan Fordham (wife, Kelly) of Woodland; four grandchildren, John David Fordham of Auburn, Connor Fordham of Wadley and Maddie Fordham and Andy Fordham, both of Woodland with another on the way, Raegan Shirey due June 17, 2019; and one sister, Shirlene Stewart (husband, Smokey) of Woodland.

Pallbearers will be Logan Cofield, Malachi Beverly, Elijah Beverly, Thomas Traylor, William Harmon, and Jimmy Traylor, Jr.  Honorary pallbearers will be John David Fordham, Connor Fordham, Andy Fordham, Maddie Fordham, Jake Lovvorn, Jackson Lovvorn, and Carey Holloway.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Fordham was born on March 12, 1947, the daughter of Curtis and Fannie Dell Harmon Traylor.  She was a member of Zion Baptist Church and retired from Bremen-Bowdon Investment Company after working for 40 years.  Mrs. Fordham enjoyed working in her flowers and being with her grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jimmy Traylor and Junior Traylor.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Zion Baptist Church youth.
