Obituary of Jimmy Kison Strain

Funeral services for Jimmy Kison Strain, age 68, of Bowdon will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019, at 11:00 AM CST at Corinth Missionary Baptist Church in Bowdon with Rev. Gary Stewart and Rev. David Daniel officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:30-8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 19, 2019.

Mr. Strain passed away at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, GA, on Tuesday, June 18, 2019.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Joy Strain of Bowdon; one son, Jamie Strain (wife, Kerri) of Woodland; three grandchildren; four sisters, Lynn Holloway of Woodland, Paula Lindsey of Oxford, Jeri Sue Miles of LaGrange, GA, and Penny Lucas of Woodland; and one brother, Ted Strain of Woodland.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Traylor, Daryl Crenshaw, Barry Yates, Kison Strain, Kyle Strain, and Kip Strain.

A Woodland native, Mr. Strain was born on February 12, 1951, the son of Kison A. and Jimmy Lou Hanson Strain.  He was a member of Corinth Missionary Baptist Church in Bowdon and worked as an electrician.  Mr. Strain was preceded in death by his parents.
