Obituary of Willis Beck

Funeral services for Willis Beck, age 82, of Roanoke will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2019, at 3:00 PM at Providence Baptist Church with Rev. John Davis officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM (CST) on Monday, August 5, 2019.  Mr. Beck will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Tuesday.

Mr. Beck passed away Friday, August 2, 2019, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Beck of Roanoke; two sons, Greg Beck of Graham and Jay Beck (Jenny) of Woodland; one stepson, Bobby Richey, Jr. (Tammy) of Roanoke; two stepdaughters, Debbie Cotton (Larry) of Douglasville, GA, and Callie Walraven (Vernon) of Dallas, GA; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sara Fauscett of Fayetteville, GA.

Pallbearers will be David Steen, Ronnie Crouch, Dwayne Bailey, Tim Gay, John Hendon, and Mike Polston.  Honorary pallbearer will be Bobby Richey, Jr.

A Fairburn, Georgia native, Mr. Beck was born on May 7, 1937, the son of Clyde and Mattie Lee Johnson Beck.  He was Baptist by faith and worked as lead man on ramp for Eastern Airlines for 28 years.  Mr. Beck was preceded in death by his parents and a great-grandson, Jackson Keith Griffin.
