Graveside services for Frances Cantrell, age 83, of Wedowee will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Highway Congregational Methodist Cemetery with Bro. Michael Waldrep officiating. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, October 15, 2019.

Mrs. Cantrell passed away Monday, October 14, 2019, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Georgia.

Survivors include: two daughters, Mareesa Moore (husband, Tim) and Peggy Cantrell, both of Wedowee; grandson, Jake Moore (wife, Wendy) of Wedowee; granddaughter, Robyn Henderson (husband, Patrick) of Tallasee; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Merlyan Williamson and Linda Gore.

Pallbearers will be Chip Cofield, Tyler Hall, Jack Burnside, Johnny Parker, Hunter Ray, and Trent Ray.  Honorary pallbearers will be Bo Moore, Finley Henderson, Abbi Moore, Kylee Moore, and Sophie Henderson.

A Woodland native, Mrs. Cantrell was born on October 23, 1935, the daughter of Stanley A. and Mattie Illene Bailey Heard.  She was the owner/operator of Cantrell’s Store for 65 years. She loved spending time with her family. Her favorite hobby was working in her gardens.  Mrs. Cantrell was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Burnze Cantrell; two sisters, Dorothy Moody and Joyce Heard; and two brothers, Sherman Buck Heard and Wayne Boots Heard.
