Obituary of Billy J Knight

Funeral services for Billy J. Knight, age 72, of Wedowee will be held on November 16, 2019, at 1:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Elder Thomas Knight officiating.  Burial will follow at Pine Flat Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, November 15, 2019.

Mr. Knight passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at his residence.

Survivors include; one son, Marcus Knight of Dallas, GA; two grandchildren, Justice Knight and D’Morrise Bledsoe; two brothers, Quinton Knight of Wedowee and Sandy Berry of Phenix City; his wife, Ruby Knight; Joan Andrews, special friend and caregiver; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

A longtime Wedowee resident, Mr. Knight was born in Tallapoosa County, Alabama on November 3, 1947, the son of Jeremiah Knight and Fannie Hardnett Berry and was raised by K. V. and Willie C “Mama C” Knight.  He was Methodist by faith, a United States Marine Corp veteran of the Vietnam conflict, and worked in construction.  Mr. Knight was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Saul Thomas and Demp Berry.

The family requests no pictures or videos be taken during the visitation or services.
