Funeral services for Jack Rogers Lyner, age 80, of Wedowee will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Dr. Steve Dempsey officiating. Burial will follow at Morrison’s Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 3, 2019.

Mr. Lyner passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, two daughters, one son, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three sisters, and two brothers.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Lyner was born on August 17, 1939, the son of Thomas and Minnie Rye Hood Lyner.  He was a member of Morrison’s Chapel Church, was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam conflict where he earned a Bronze Star and retired with over 20 years of service, and worked as a mechanic for Rankin Brothers.  Mr. Lyner was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one half brother.
