Funeral services for David Wayne Hunter, age 59, of Wedowee will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jason Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, December 4, 2019.

Mr. Hunter passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019, at his residence.

Survivors include one daughter, Kim Waddell (Caleb) of Wedowee; one son, Scotty Wayne Hunter of Wedowee; two grandchildren, Austin Hunter and Chesnie Waddell; one sister, Norma Jean Cantrell (Viron) of Woodland; and two brothers, Russell Lee Hunter (Judy) of Ranburne, and Randy Hunter of Wedowee.

An Alexander City native, Mr. Hunter was born on October 15, 1960, the son of Jeff David and Mollie Maudine Hanner Hunter. Mr. Hunter had worked as a mechanic.  Mr. Hunter was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Brenda Joyce Allen.
