Obituary of Mary Joann Nunn

Funeral services for Mary Joann Barsh Nunn, age 66, of Wedowee will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jerry Johnson and Pastor Clarence Foster officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Monday, February 10, 2020. Mrs. Nunn passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Georgia. Survivors include her husband, Coleman Nunn of Wedowee; one daughter, Penny Foster of Ashland, AL; one son, Kimbell Myron Barsh of Santa Rose, FL; two stepdaughters, Virginia Proquett of NY and Junita Nunn of Bessemer, AL; one stepson, James Earl Nunn of NY; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one sister, Jennifer Neal of Graham, AL; two brothers, Kimbrel Barsh of Norman, OK, and Jeffery Barsh of Tampa, FL; one stepsister, Lola Mae Wright of Wedowee; one sister-in-law, Tammy Barsh of Norman, OK; one stepbrother, Robert Davenport of Wedowee; one brother-in-law, Leon Nunn of Bowdon, GA; one uncle, Charlie Barsh, Sr., of LaGrange, GA; and two aunts, Julia Barsh of LaGrange, GA, and Bobbie J. Barsh of Opelika, AL. A Wedowee native, Mrs. Nunn was born on July 17, 1953, the daughter of Oliver Johnson and Ada L. Barsh. She was a member of Cannon Shining Light Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Nunn was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and one nephew. Memorials may be floral or donations may be made to Benefield Funeral Home to go towards final expenses.
