Funeral services for Cecil Brown, age 91, of Woodland will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Bro. Chad Murphy and Bro. Mike Spradlin officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, June 9, 2020. Mr. Brown passed away Monday, June 8, 2020, at his residence. Survivors include: one daughter, Sherry Parrish of Woodland; one son, Ted Brown (Mattie) of Woodland; three grandchildren, Todd Parrish, Rexanne Pinkard, and Jason Brown; five great-grandchildren, Austin Brown, Gracie McIntosh, Jackson McIntosh, Emma Parrish, and Charlie Parrish; one sister, Vera Luker (Barron) of Delta; and two brothers, Junior Brown of Wedowee and Vernon Brown of Woodland. Pallbearers will be Mike Spradlin, Jason McInstosh, Marlon Stewart, Mark Parmer, Tim Brown, and Kenneth Calhoun. A Randolph County native, Mr. Brown was born on May 24, 1929, the son of Robert L. and Annie Bolt Brown. He attended Oak Grove Church of Christ and served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. Mr. Brown worked at Handley Mills and for Daniel Construction. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ethellenne Stewart Brown; and five siblings, Willie Brown, Lowell Brown, Lorene Burks, Mavis Calhoun, and Ann Wilson.
