Obituary of Alice Mae Adamson
Funeral services for Alice Mae Adamson, age 88, of Wedowee will be held on Friday, August 14, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Joshua Boatright and Rev. David Holcombe officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, August 13, 2020.
Mrs. Adamson passed away Monday, August 10, 2020, at Clay County Nursing Home in Ashland.
Survivors include: four daughters, Betty Boatright (Tim) of Carrollton, GA, Sericia Seiber (Aric) of Crossville, TN, Annetta Johnson (Robert) of Ruther Glen, VA, and Darlene Daugherty (Greg) of Lineville, AL; two sons, Kenneth Adamson (Darlene) of Wadley, AL, and John Vic Adamson (Monica) of Knoxville, TN; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Viola Mitchell of Lanett, AL, and Dorothy Dewberry of Wedowee, AL; and four brothers, Teman Holloway, Rayford Holloway, and J.C. Holloway, all of Wedowee, AL, and Jimmy Holloway of Roanoke, AL.
Pallbearers will be Danny Mitchell, Scotty McCain, James McCain, Jared Holloway, Ken Spradlin, and David Holcombe. Jackie Holloway will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
A Wedowee native, Mrs. Adamson was born on June 17, 1932, the daughter of Matthew and Lola Holloway. She was a member of Mt. Grove Baptist Church and was a housewife. Mrs. Adamson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Alford Adamson; one son, Pat Adamson; and one sister, Iola Adamson.
