James W. Bryan, age 78, of Wedowee passed away Thursday, September 17, 2020, at Clay County Hospital in Ashland, Alabama.

Survivors include: two daughters, Julia Bryan of Wedowee and Debby Brown of Knoxville, TN; five sons, Forrest Bryan of Lynchburg, TN, Thomas E. Bryan of Florida, James W. Bryan, Jr., of Clarksville, TN, Ronald Bryan of Washington, D.C., and Andrew Bryan of Salem, IL; two sisters, Lou Bryan and Dovie Bryan; and one brother, Gracin Ixby Bryan.

A Chipley, Georgia native, Mr. Bryan was born on April 6, 1942, the son of Gracin Ixby and Annielou Davidson Bryan.  He was a member of Lineville Seventh Day Adventist Church and worked as a diesel mechanic.  Mr. Bryan was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and two brothers.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
