Obituary of Helen Green Cothran

Funeral services for Helen Green Cothran, age 84, of Woodland will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Bro. Alex Higgins officiating. Burial will follow at Highway Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 22, 2020.

Mrs. Cothran passed away Monday, September 21, 2020, at her residence.

Survivors include: two daughter, Pam Eubanks of Fayette, GA, and Deonne Parmer of Woodland; one son, Jimmy Howard Parmer of Newnan, Ga; ten grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Bobbie Parmer, Patricia Richardson, and Robbie Adams, all of Woodland.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Cothran’s nephews.

A Woodland native, Mrs. Cothran was born on March 9, 1936, the daughter of Howard Joseph and Ida Lancaster Green.  She was Baptist by faith and worked as a seamstress.  Mrs. Cothran was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Deborah Hanner; one son, Hershel Wayne Parmer; four sisters; and five brothers.
