Graveside services for Myrtis Baldwin, age 94, of Roanoke will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Highway Congregational Methodist Church with Clayton Scott officiating and Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements

The family will receive friends at Taylor’s Crossroads Church of Christ from 11:00 AM – 1:30 PM on Thursday before the service begins.

Mrs. Baldwin passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at Traylor’s Nursing Center.

Survivors include: daughter-in-law, Sandra Baldwin of Roanoke; two granddaughters, Stephanie Daniel (Jeremy) and SueAda Hicks (Jacob), both of Roanoke; five great-grandchildren, Jake Daniel, Jud Daniel, Julia Daniel, Aria Hicks, and Ruby Hicks; and one sister, Margaret Cofield of Roanoke.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Daniel, Jake Daniel, Jud Daniel, Jacob Hicks, Hiram Baldwin, and Ryan Conger. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Cofield, Jamie Cofield, John Conger, and Jake Conger.

A Roanoke native, Mrs. Baldwin was born on October 11, 1926, the daughter of Otis and Ada Pike Scott.  She was a member of Taylor’s Crossroads Church of Christ and worked as a seamstress for Bremen-Bowdon, Inv.  She was the best cake baker around and loved her grand and great-grandkids more than anything.  Mrs. Baldwin was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Victor Baldwin; two sons, Steve Baldwin and Tim Baldwin; a grandson, Steven Baldwin; six sisters; and three brothers.
