Obituary of Paul Daniel Herren

Graveside services for Paul Daniel Herren, age 81, of Woodland will be held on Friday, October 23, 2020, at 2:00 PM CST at Harmony Congregational Methodist Cemetery with Bro. Brian Moore and Mr. Bob Fincher officiating and Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Herren passed away Thursday, October 22, 2020, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Herren of Woodland; daughter, Lisa Herren of Leeds, AL; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Pieper Herren of Heflin; two grandchildren, Drew Wilson (Kristin) and Christal Norred (Amy); three great-grandchildren, Abbie Sheats, Blanton Wilson, and Easton Norred; and his dog and best friend, Daisy.

Pallbearers will be Billy Mack Herren, Grover Herren, Heath Brown, Drew Wilson, Anclee Upshaw, Jr., and Fred Herren.  Honorary pallbearers will be Sonny Maner, Dale Rush, Gary McDaniel, Alan Strickland, and Steve Crawford.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Herren was born on March 19, 1939, the son of Grover Washington and Elsie Leigh Crawford Herren.  He was a member of Harmony Cong. Methodist Church, taught body and fender at Randolph-Roanoke Career Tech Center, and was the owner of Paul Herren’s Garage.  Mr. Herren was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Billy Herren; and a sister, Joann Blanks.

Memorials may be floral or donations may be made to the Harmony Cong. Methodist Cemetery Fund.
