Obituary of Linda Sue Brooks

Funeral services for Linda Sue Brooks, 63, of Franklin, Georgia, will be held on Friday, November 13, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Heflin, Alabama.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, November 12, 2020. Ms. Brooks will lie in state at the church from 1:00-2:00 PM on Friday before services begin.

Ms. Brooks passed away Monday, November 9, 2020, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

Survivors include: one daughter, Alice Harmon of Franklin, GA; two sons, Chris Baxter (Amber) of Edmonton, KY, and Allen Harmon (Dawn) of Moreland, GA; three grandchildren, Brody Harmon, Braley Harmon and Joseph Baxter; one sister, Janet Combs (Lee), of Franklin; five brothers, Ralph “Peanut” Brooks of Wedowee, Bo Brooks (Carol) of Pell City, Tony Brooks of Franklin, GA, John Brooks (Chenel) and Doyle Brooks both of Valley.

Pallbearers will be Ralph Brooks, Tyler Brooks, Chris Duncan, Scott Thompson, Johnathan Wilson, and Randy Smitherman.

A Calhoun County native, Ms. Brooks was born in Anniston on September 6, 1957, the daughter of Birsey Dee and Nellie Faye McCulley Brooks.  She worked in the stock room for Franklin Aluminum.   Ms. Brooks was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jimmy S. Harmon; brother, Gregory Brooks; and two sisters, Melba Hall and Rena Faye Whaley.
