Funeral services for David Earl Barnett, age 73, of Anniston will be held on Friday, December 4, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Randy Stanford officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, December 3, 2019.

Mr. Barnett passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at Sumter Health & Rehabilitation Center in York, AL.

Survivors include his daughter, Deborah Lynn Barnett (Steve Barkley) of Mentone, AL; one son, Jimmy and Jill Barnett of Wedowee; four grandchildren, Jordan Whatley, Kelsey Fincher, Elisabeth and Randy Stanford, and Bailey Barnett; two sisters, Joann West (Mike) of Trenton, GA, and Teresa Grizzard (Terry) of Trenton, GA; three brothers, Roger Barnett and Al Barnett, both of Chattanooga, TN, and Michael Barnett (Gilda) also of Chattanooga.

An Alabama native, Mr. Barnett was born on September 29, 1947, the son of Lee and Lavada Underwood Barnett. He was a member of Open Door Baptist Church and had worked as a mechanic at Hub Trucking for many years and later was a Diesel Mechanic Instructor at Gadsden State.  Mr. Barnett was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Carol Lucas Barnett, and one brother, Kenny Barnett.
