Obituary of Franklin Wayne Smith

Franklin Wayne Smith, age 72, of Heflin passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Hall Smith of Heflin; two sons, Matt Smith (Gail) and Marc Smith, both of Woodland; seven grandchildren, Alexis Young, Emma Smith, Kalon Smith, Lola Smith, Sophia Smith, Ashley Edmondson, and Katlin Edmondson; one great-grandchild, Kensley Norton; one sister, Brenda Martin of Jacksonville, NC; and one brother, Al Smith of Melbourne, FL.

A Rome, Georgia native, Mr. Smith was born on March 20, 1948, the son of Frank and Sarah Holder Smith.  He was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church and worked as a truck driver for Southwire and Zartran.  Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Gene Popay and Charles Smith.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
