Obituary of Horace C. "Bobby" Roundtree

Funeral services for Horace C. “Bobby” Roundtree, age 78, of Wedowee will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020, at 1:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel.  Burial will follow at Friendship Baptist Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, December 17, 2020.

Mr. Roundtree passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Roundtree of Wedowee; two daughters, Sharon Roundtree (Eric) of Oxford and Penny M. Edwards (Clarence) of Roanoke; two sons, Horace C. Roundtree, Jr., and Otis Roundtree (fiancé, Kristi), both of Wedowee; 14 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Isabell Wright and Elizabeth Trammell (Tommy Lee), both of Roanoke, and Nora Ezelle Lee of Wedowee.

Pallbearers will be Jamison Phillips, Horace Roundtree, Jr., Tyrone Rutlin, Dewayne Trammell, William King, and William Patterson.

A Wedowee native, Mr. Roundtree was born on February 25, 1942, the son of Jack and Nora Willis Roundtree.  He was a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church and worked as a warehouse manager for Alabama DOT.  Mr. Roundtree was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Roundtree; one great-grandchild; and five brothers.
