Obituary of Jimmy R. Screws

Graveside services for Jimmy R. Screws, age 77, of Wadley, will be held on Saturday, December 19^th, 2020, at 12:00 PM at Corinth Christian Church Cemetery with Bro. Rayford Edmondson officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Friday, December 18, 2020.

Mr. Screws passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at Clay County Hospital.

Survivors include his loving companion and caregiver, Judy Mezick; two sons, Darrell Thomas of Roanoke, AL and Jimmy Vinson of Heflin, AL; one daughter, Melinda Rivera (husband, Mike) of Clermont, FL; two step-daughters, Christie Bennett and Donna Toney; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Faye Blake (husband, Talmadge) of Wadley, AL.

Pallbearers will be Albert Eiland, Robert Blake, Charles Clark, Mike Smith, Pete Jordan, and JJ Jordan.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Screws was born on June 17, 1943, the son of Woodrow and Nannie Smith Screws. He was Christian by faith and worked at a repair shop. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Tracy Vinson.
