Obituary of Kitha Lou Brooks Clarke

Funeral services for Kitha Lou Brooks Clarke, age 82, of Delta will be held on Sunday, January 10, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Christiana Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Bain officiating and Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements. Only family will be seated in the church during the service, which will be available to listen to on your car radio on 89.3 FM.  Social distancing is a requirement.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:30-7:00 PM on Saturday, January 9, 2021.  Mrs. Clarke will lie in state at the church from 1:00-2:00 on Sunday before services begin.

Mrs. Clarke passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at Lineville Health and Rehabilitation.

Survivors include: three sons, Keith Clarke, Jimmy Lin Clarke, and Sandy Clarke, all of Delta; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Clarke’s family.

A Clay County native, Mrs. Clarke was born on March 5, 1938, the daughter of Albert Sidney Johnson and Myrtie Jane Shaddix Brooks.  She was a member of Christiana Baptist Church and worked as a sales clerk for Walmart.  Mrs. Clarke was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jimmy Garrett Clarke; daughter-in-law, Tina Clarke; one sister, Virginia Brooks; and four brothers, Bobby Brooks, Alvin Brooks, Junior Brooks, and Alfred Brooks.
