Obituary of Blanche Norred Crews

Graveside services for Blanche Norred Crews, age 100, formerly of Wedowee, will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Union Baptist Cemetery with Rev. Ed Halsey officiating and Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Crews passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at the home of her family.

Survivors include: one son, Norred Crews (Sally); four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Crews was born on June 20, 1920, the daughter of J. D. and Donnie Cofield Norred.  She was a member of Union Baptist Church and worked as a seamstress for Sewell’s Manufacturing.  Mrs. Crews was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Woodrow Crews; a daughter, Hilda Story; and three sisters, Lois, Clois, and Birs.
