Funeral services for Michael Curtis Brown, age 70, of Roanoke will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at 12:00 Noon at Benefield Funeral Chapel - Wedowee with Bro. Clay Lovelady, Bro. Marty Dunlap, and Rev. Jack Vidler officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens in Roanoke with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Monday, January 11, 2021.
Mr. Brown passed away peacefully, Saturday, January 9, 2021, at his home.
Survivors include: his six children, Heather Nash (Joel) of Lineville, Heath Brown (Lisa) of Lineville, Haley Lovelady (Clay) of Lineville, Celeste Smith (Patrick) of Ashland, Megan Arrington (Brad) of Wedowee, and Cody Brown of Wadley; fifteen grandchildren, Petty Officer Third Class Matthew Edge (Gracie), Seaman Madison Edge, Callen Brown, Kyla Brown, Landis Brown, Braxton Lovelady, Chloee Lovelady, Chalee Lovelady, Lidiah Lovelady, Alyvia Lovelady, Blake Watson, Emory Smith, Bennett Smith, Brayden Arrington, and Grayson Arrington; and two sisters, Shirley Yarbrough (Henry) of Cusseta and Retha Vidler (Jack) of Roanoke..
Pallbearers will be Joel Nash, Patrick Smith, Petty Officer Third Class Matthew Edge, Braxton Lovelady, Heath Green, Martin Hendrix, Tom Hill, Doug Sheppard, Wayne Boggs, Rusty Bailey, and Ethan Noles.
Honorary pallbearers will be Landis Brown, Blake Watson, Bennett Smith, Brayden Arrington, and Grayson Arrington.
A Randolph County native, Mr. Brown was born on March 13, 1950, the son of Curtis and Dorothy Parmer Brown. He was Christian by faith and had worked as a parts manager for Durand-Wayland Inc. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Phillip Julian Brown.
