Janice Carol Boyd Cosper, age 80 of Wedowee died January 21, 2021. Funeral services will be January 26, 2021 at 2:00pm at New Home United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Ward officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at New Home Methodist Church. Burial will follow at New Home Cemetery.

Janice was a Randolph County native, born November 20, 1940, the oldest daughter of Swann and Irene Johnson Boyd of Wedowee, a 1959 graduate of Randolph County High School, and a member of New Home Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, homemaker, secretary, artist and author.  She and her minister husband, Benny Cosper spent 30 years in active service in the North Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church. After retirement the couple enjoyed their “Grands” and traveling.

She is survived by her husband, Benny Cosper, one daughter and son-in-law Tawyna Rene’ Cosper Cash and Jeffrey of Lanett, one sister  Sandra Murphy (Roy) of Birmingham. Three grandchildren, Benjamin Cash (Robin), Christopher Cash, Jordan Cash (Marlee) and one great grandchild Kipton Cash, nephews Donovan Murphy and Patrick Murphy. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Swann Boyd and Irene Johnson Boyd. The family requests any memorials be made to New Home Methodist Church or Pell City Methodist Church.
