Funeral services for Jeremy McCain, age 50, of Wedowee will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2021, at 1:00 PM at Union Hill Congregational Methodist Church with Bro. Zack Stone officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.  Mr. McCain will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Thursday.

Mr. McCain passed away Monday, January 25, 2021, at his father’s residence.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly White McCain of Wedowee; his father, Junior McCain of Wedowee; one son, Nick McCain (Emily) of Alexandria; one grandchild, Rylee Kate McCain; and one sister, Sonya Smith (Tim) of Wedowee.

Pallbearers will be Pat Prestridge, Roger Mizell, Ken Beverly, Jake Smith, Wendell White, Matthew Huddleston, Casey Hadley, and Ethan Parker.

A Wedowee native, Mr. McCain was born on August 19, 1970, the son of Howard McCain, Jr., and Theresa Joan Huey McCain.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wedowee and worked as a transporter for Regional Medical Center.  Mr. McCain was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan and supported RCHS athletics through and through.  Mr. McCain was preceded in death by his mother.
