Obituary of Mary Thelma Brand

Funeral services for Mary Thelma Brand, age 73, of Woodland will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Bro. Keith Benefield and Bro. Allan Daniel officiating.  Burial will follow at Haywood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00-7:00 PM on Saturday, January 30, 2021.

Mrs. Brand passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021, at Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica, GA.

Survivors include: one daughter, Teresa Knight (Joe) of Wadley; one son, Timothy Brand (Alicia) of woodland; four grandchildren, Tiffany Elliott, Katie Alsabrook, Harlie Brand, and Cole Brand; and five great-grandchildren, Braylee Gurley, Faiden Gurley, Bryson Arrington, Blaze Elliott, and Molly Elliott.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Hill, Drew Hill, Jerome Taylor, Eli Taylor, Jessie Elliott, and Wade Willingham.

A Wedowee native, Mrs. Brand was born on July 18, 1947, the daughter of Willie Rudolph and Annie Irene Stewart Hill.  She was a member of Oak Grove Church of Christ and worked as a seamstress for Bremen-Bowdon Investment Company.  Mrs. Brand was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Nealy Brand; and two brothers, Stewart Hill and Darrell Hill.
