I am so glad I got to meet Bobby's awesome family. Y'all did a great job sharing your memories of your father and grandfather at the funeral service. He and I had not seen much of each other since high school, so hearing from the people he loved and who loved him back let me know he had a wonderful life. I know you will miss him.
One of our RCHS football coaches told me one day that Bobby Hollis had more determination than anybody on our team. If you can imagine a 50 pound stockdog taking on an angry 1800 pound bull and not backing down until the bull cooperates, you can imagine how Bobby played football. He was constantly going up against opponents bigger than he was, and he was relentless. He was a great teammate who always pulled more than his weight.
The last time I saw Bobby he talked with me about his relationship with the Lord. He told me he had not always walked the straight and narrow, but that he and the Lord has set things right and he was a different man as a result. I am happy he lived and died trusting in Christ.
Rest in peace, my friend.
