Obituary of Rayford Holloway

Funeral services for Rayford Holloway, age 73, of Wedowee, will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Bro. Claude Bennett, Bro. Donald Spradlin and Bro. Ben Milam officiating.  Burial will follow at Mount Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 4, 2021.

Mr. Holloway passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021, at his residence.

Survivors include Marvolene Holloway; one daughter, Amy Holloway of Wedowee; two sons, Jason Holloway of Anniston and Jerome Holloway (Carrie) of Woodbridge, Va.; two sisters, Viola Mitchell of Lanett and Dorothy Dewberry of Wedowee; two brothers, Jimmy Holloway (Cindy) of Roanoke and J. C. Holloway (Barbara) of Wedowee; nine grandchildren: Hollie Hanbury, Zak Holloway, Alex Holloway, Alexus Holloway, Jacob Holloway, Cameron Marsh, Trevor Holloway, Ellie Holloway and Arley Holloway; and three great-grandchildren: Bryce, Marley and Payton.

Pallbearers will be Alex Holloway, Jacob Holloway, Cameron Marsh, Billy Adamson, and Jeremy Holloway.

A Wedowee native, Mr. Holloway was born September 13, 1947, the son of Matthew and Lola Daniel Holloway.  He was a member of Mt. Grove Baptist Church and had been employed with Randolph County.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Temon Holloway and an infant brother; two sisters, Alice Adamson and Iola Adamson.
