Obituary of Evelyn Huddleston Brown

Funeral services for Evelyn Huddleston Brown, age 91, of Lanett, Alabama, will be held on Monday, May 10, 2021, at 12:00 noon at Bear Creek United Methodist Church with Bro. Jacob Wilkerson officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM on Monday before services begin.

Mrs. Brown passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021, at Lanier Nursing Home in Valley, Alabama.

Survivors include: one son, Verlon Brown (Judy) of Lanett, AL; one grandson, Justin Brown (Kim) of Valley, AL; four great-grandchildren, Dylan White, Larissa Brown, Kylee Brown, and Kortney Spradlin; one great-great-grandchild, Easton White; and two brothers, Russell Huddleston (Francis) of Woodland and Wiley Huddleston of Saraland, AL.

Pallbearers will be Justin Brown, Dylan White, and member of Bear Creek United Methodist Church.

A Woodland native, Mrs. Brown was born on June 6, 1929, the daughter of Monroe and Mamie Henry Huddleston.  She was a member of Bear Creek United Methodist Church and worked as a weaving instructor for West Point Pepperell.  Mrs. Brown loved to garden and was a great cook.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene W. Brown; grandson, Jeremy Brown; sister, Nell Walden; and brothers, Artie Huddleston and Raleigh Huddleston.
